With the wings of Blue Air to Athens and Thessaloniki
Blue Air announces that from 19/01/2015, is opening a new operational base in Cyprus, operating flights Larnaca-Athens and Larnaca-Thessaloniki and return to serve the Cypriot travellers. The new flight schedule of the airline includes flights to the two Greek cities as follows:
- 7 flights per week for Athens (Monday – Sunday)
- 3 flights per week for Thessaloniki (Tuesday – Thursday – Sunday); these frequencies are expected to increase.
It is worth highlighting that the existing route to Bucharest remains the same (3 weekly flights), but Blue Air intends to increase its network from Cyprus to other destinations. The detailed flight schedule is available on the Blue Air website, www.blueairweb.com
The airline's development, spurred to add new destinations, materialized in a dynamic presence in the aviation space both on the island and in Europe, offering very affordable prices to Cyprus passengers. Blue Air customers and tourism agencies will be served by the experienced staff of Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd, Blue Air’s representative in Cyprus.
Tudor Constantinescu, commercial Director of Blue Air said: "we want to thank the Cypriot traveller who trusted and supported us over the past 7 years for our flights Larnaca - Bucharest. We, in turn, to reciprocate this love and trust, are giving the opportunity to the Cypriot passengers to travel cheap and safe to other destinations, starting with Athens and Thessaloniki and we are simultaneously contributing to the creation of new jobs. With 7 years of presence in the Cyprus market, we feel that Cyprus is our home".
From his side the Managing Director of Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd, Mr. Antonis Orthodoxou said: "It is with mixed emotions that we welcome the development of Blue Air flights to Athens and Thessaloniki.
The new data created in the aviation sector in the Cyprus market after the unpleasant developments with our national carrier, imposed initiatives to cover the large and important vacuum that resulted. Cyprus is an island and the presence of network connection is necessary as far as possible both for the travel needs of the public and the economy of the island. We are positive that the public will trust us and will fly with Blue Air as it does since 2008”.
